Our T&C’s
Our Terms and Conditions
The words "T&C's" can seem daunting - but we want to be transparent about our expectations when having piano, guitar and singing lessons with us. We want to avoid any misunderstandings when it comes to payments, absences and other important questions.
By choosing to learn with us, you are agreeing to the following policies regarding enrolments and payments:

Enrolments & Payments
How Enrolments Work
Our classes run by the NSW Public School Term Calendar.
In Week 7 each term, we roll over all our enrolments to secure your spot for the following term. This means that you get to keep your weekly lesson day/time.
In Week 8 of each term, we send out invoices for the consecutive term’s classes (for students who are currently enrolled)
We’ll contact you in Week 7 and ask if you need to make any changes to class time in the following term. This includes discontinuing classes too.
If you are happy with your class time and day, we’ll just roll everything over so there’s no need to manually re-enrol.
For new students:
We don’t offer free trials, but new students are welcome to try out 1 class before committing to the term.
We’ll initially schedule and invoice you for the 1 class. If you enjoy the first class, we’ll enrol you for the whole term and invoice you accordingly.
Students trying their first class must make a payment before their first class commences.
T&C’s for Payments
For students currently enrolled, we send out invoices for piano, guitar and singing lessons on Week 7 of the previous term (unless on a direct debit payment plan).
Payments are due within 14 days of the invoice being sent out, or a day before your first class is scheduled.
If the above arrangement is unsuitable for you, please let us know. We would love to arrange direct debit payment instalments for you (see below).
Any books or curriculums that are purchased by teachers on students’ behalf can be added to the term’s invoice
Please note: We don’t give refunds. If you know in advance that you will be away for a certain period of time, please let our team know in advance so we can invoice you accordingly: hello@music-onpurpose.com
Payment Instalments
If you would rather pay in instalments rather than pay upfront for the term, we can arrange a weekly or monthly direct debit payment plan for you.
You can nominate either a bank account or credit card for the payment to be drawn from.
Late fees:
If payments are not made in time, a late $20 administration fee will apply (this is a system automation).
If late payment (with admin fee) is not paid for within 7 days, lessons will be suspended until the payment is made, but the term’s invoice will still be due.

Absences & Makeup Lessons
T&C’s for Absences
Lesson Cancellation Policy
We unfortunately do not give refunds for piano, guitar or singing lessons missed by the student.
If a piano, guitar, or singing lesson is cancelled due to illness or emergency, we will do our best to book you a make up lesson within the same term. However, this cannot be guaranteed as it will depend on the teacher’s availability.
We require 48 hours notice for any absences to be given a makeup lesson.
Makeup Lessons
For students learning in group music lesson who miss a class (with 48 hours notice), you can join another group class at the same/similar level within the same term.
For students learning in a private music lesson who miss a class (with 48 hours notice), we can either extend your current private music lesson, or organise a makeup lesson on another day within the same term.
For anyone that has missed a class (with 48 hours notice) and is unable to have a makeup lesson during the term, we will hold a week of makeup lessons in the first week of the school holidays
As mentioned above, we will require at least 48 hours notice us to organise a makeup music lesson for you.
Makeup music lessons cannot be rescheduled or pushed back past into the following term.
If Your Teacher Misses a Class
In the rare case that your teacher cannot make a lesson…
For group classes:
We will organise another one of our amazing teachers to teach the class at your usual lesson time and day.
If this isn’t possible we’ll cancel the class and give you credit for the following term (or the school holidays)
For private lessons,
We’ll try to organise a makeup lesson or lengthen your upcoming classes— if this isn’t possible, we will give you credit for the following term.
Late-to-Class Policy
If you are late to your piano, guitar or singing class, we unfortunately won’t be able to extend your session to the full time frame of your class as we have classes lined up back to back.
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way — but we also ask that you try your best to be on time as we love spending more time with you than less :)
Got any questions?
