What to expect when learning piano with us for the first time!

Can I book in a trial class?

Yes of course! It’s important to us that you feel comfortable in your class, and with your teacher. The connection you feel socially can positively shape your learning experience, so having a trial class is a great way to gage if the group piano class / private piano lesson is best suited for you.

We don’t offer free trial classes, but new students are always welcome to book and pay for the one class before choosing to sign up for the whole term.

What do I bring to a group piano class?

Bring yourself! Your teacher should have materials ready for you. In our group piano classes, we work through both fun popular songs, and Bastien Piano curriculum + theory books that each student will be given (once enrolled for the term).

Should I book my child into a group piano class or a private piano lesson?

Group piano classes are great for kids who want to learn piano in a fun, relaxed environment. Group piano classes are great for socialising, making new friends and learning the foundations of music in a social setting. Our group piano classes have a maximum capacity of 4 students, to ensure that each child receives ample attention, and doesn’t get lost in the crowd!

Private piano lessons are best suited for adults and kids who want to take a more formal approach to learning the piano. Learning piano in a private, 1-1 setting is great for students who are aiming to sit an AMEB exam, or work towards solid performance goals for school, musicals, and so on!

How do I pay for the book / curriculum that you work through in piano lessons?

We’ll have your piano books ready for you at your class once you’ve enrolled for the term - and pop the book’s cost onto either your term’s invoice (if you haven’t yet made a payment) - or send through a separate invoice for the books.

Got any other questions about learning the piano with us for the first time? We’d love to hear from you.
